LTO Urges Motorists to Claim Driver’s License thru Hotline

“We will immediately print their driver’s license here in the Central Office and we will also give them the option if they want their plastic-printed driver’s license through our accredited courier service,” Asst. Sec. Mendoza said on Saturday, 13th July 2024, as cited in a Facebook post by Land Tranportation Office – Philippines.

Through the guidance of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime J. Bautista and the leadership of Asst. Sec. Mendoza, the LTO has finally addressed the agency’s backlog on paper-printed driver’s licenses.

LTO data shows that only five (5) percent of motorists affected by the backlog have yet to claim their plastic-printed driver’s license. This prompted the LTO Chief to urge these motorists to claim their licenses. He also stressed that no motorists should have a paper-printed license since the backlog had already been addressed.

“We already downloaded sufficient supply of plastic cards down to the licensing offices across the country,” he explained. “Kaya dapat lahat ay may plastic-printed driver’s license na dahil wala na pong backlog dito (Everyone should have plastic-printed driver’s licenses since there is no more backlog).”

Humigit kumulang mga 9.7 million cards, na-bid out na po ‘yan ng DOTr at LTO (Around 9.7 million cards have been bid out by the DOTr and LTO). So, there’s no reason why we will not have enough cards for the entire year,” the LTO Chief had stated earlier, based on a report by the Philippine News agency.
